Based in Vienna since 2005, Dutch freelance journalist and writer Eric Willemsen covers Austrian affairs for international TV and radio broadcasters, including TRT World and NPO Radio 1. Eric travels around Europe as a sports writer specialised in Alpine skiing for The Associated Press, and as an editor and live blogger for the European Handball Federation.

 

A board member of Poetry in Business, Eric is actively involved in the non-profit organisation's journalism-related projects and gives presentations and workshops on topics like quality journalism standards, fake news, and journalism & democracy.

 

Eric holds degrees in Journalism and Communication Sciences, and reports in English, Dutch, and German.
